Okay so i painted my fender about a month ago I sanded primered sanded till my arm almost fell off then I put a layer of base coat then clear coat,I only did one can of base which I thought was enough, now the paint is chipping.
So my question is can I just sand of the clear coat and sand, then apply another layer or two of base coat?

in my experience, unless you have the ability to "bake" set the paint, Prime, let set up about 1 week. light sand 2-3 coats paint, let sit for about week, then repeat for clear coat. priming,painting and clearing to close together timewise causes the flaking. not enough set up time, as i found out. then also avoid any type of high pressure washing,and excessive waxing for at least 3 -5 months after final clear, wetsand, and buff. its a P.I.T.A.
