So Finally got down and looked under my Focus a bit and discovered the under-the-front shield is BIG, two parts and it really does cover the whole bottom of the engine. So not little hole cutting to ease changing the oil. (Fast lub places are going to go crazy..)
And i saw the sivery sheen of lower control arms. the aluminum ones..
So what does that mean? [rant] [read]
I read somewhere about them being 'better' but what is it. The sport package? 17" wheels, the manual tranny, or anything better than a "S" model? gets the silver aluminum lower control arms...
I COULD search for them.. but some kind soul may remember off the top of thier head which get them... [pray]
Anyway i am glad i looked.
Have to get ready to change my oil pretty soon.....
Gonna do it early at 1,000mi [wrenchin]

From what I can tell, any car equipped with the 15" tires got the steel lower control arms. Everything else should be aluminum

The shield is easy to take off. A few, maybe 10 plastic screws, slide it forward and your done. One tip I learned, don't over tighten or they will strip.
