So I've been doing a lot of thinking and cant make up my mind if I should go ahead and build the motor for more power. I've calculated it all, and it would run me about 3k for everything. Some of the parts are pistons/rods/cosworth manifold/head studs/ext. waste gate/60lbs injectors/rod bearings/cams and so on.

The power where the car is at is really nice, but of course like with everything else, you get used to it and want more. But I think 300whp focus would be exactly where I would want it to be, enough to walk up on heavily modded cars or even supercars.

But in the back of my mind, is this all worth it to go on the focus, i mean its is only a focus afterall. I'm still debating, maybe i can get some input from the guys here. Either I build this now, or I get a new project car, or get me another bike. Actually I take that back, I'm getting another bike anyways, so to build or not to build?

That whole it's just a Focus is the most rediculous comment I hear about these cars. You can put that phrase on any car, "it's just a Civic" or "it's just a Mustang." It's just how it goes but a 300 WHP or even a little less will be sick as hell.

Actually I've beaten a a handful of STI's and numerous EVO's with my current setup.
The best STI I ran was a 07 STI w/ intake exhaust Tune and cranked the boost to 18psi, and still got him by 2-3 cars.

But anyways the point of the build was to beat cars faster than STI's but more like corvettes or some nice high end cars, and also some highly modded cars.

id say if you dont owe much on the car or maybe its paid off do it!!! 3k is really not that much when you think of what other 2500lb car is putting down 300whp

If you got the cash, do it. If it is your main hobby why not throw down some money on it. If there are other things you are interested in more than the car, then go that route. Priorities baby, priorities!

Your car does look sick, and it would be fun smoking cars that would have no idea. Watching sheer confidence turn into "what the hell just happened".

Well at the moment im leaning into getting this, this weekend, maybe start buying parts slowly for it.
But I kinda assume you guys would advice me to build it because this IS a focus forum, LOL.

I liked your car the way it is now but I'd say do what you want. What happens when you get used to that 300whp focus? Are you then gonna go for 400?

Orange has a good point. If I had your car and $3000 burning a whole in my pocket I'd add a 'cage, seats, and harnesses. Then take it road racing. But I know thats not your style... When're you going to build the motor?
