Hey guys and girls

I just have a question about tire sizes. I have a 2006 Focus hatch zx5. Currently it has Michelin 205/55r/16 tires on the 16 inch rims that are worn. My question is, I have a basically new set of 215/60r/16 tires in storage, will they fit the focus rims with no rubbing or clearance issues? I am just trying to get an idea before I have them mounted etc. Any help or advice or would be appreciated. Thanks!

The tires will probably fit but the speedometer and odometer will get thrown off as the 215/60r16 tires are larger in diameter than the 205/55r16's, though it is probably a bit off already as the stock tire sizes for 06 Focus is 195/60R15 and 205/50R16 (from the info I found on the 16" stock rimmed vehicles) .

Assuming the tire size on the car is correct going to the 215/60R16's would throw the speedometer/odometer off by about 5% so if you were traveling at 105kph it would show you to be be going 100kph , not a lot but over a longer distance would throw things off, and could lead to getting speeding tickets as you would be going faster than the car shows. However if the tires on the car are actually the incorrect size then going to the 215/60's it would be almost 9% off (109kph vehicle speed but shows 100kph).

Already "up" one size so going up again is pushing things IMHO.

You can double check all that just by looking at the driver's door edge, where stock size should be posted.
