I just purchased the Hankook W409 IPikes and they appear to rub. Now ive got a 205-60-16 dwn from the 17's that come stock.Has anyone else run into this issue? Should I opt for a 205-55-16?

I don't know where you got that tire size, but I'm running stock 215-45-17's. I'm guessing you have a set of 16's to put your winter tires on??? If so, then I can't comment - my Neogens do fairly well even in the snow.

205/60R16 is tall. i run the 205/55R16 and they are noticably taller than stock tires (205/50R16), although i dont rub. which wheels are you using. what offset? if u can exchange for 55's or even 50s i would.

I'm confused, which tires are rubbing, the 17's or the 205/60-16's? Those 16's are over an inch taller than stock sizes (205/50-16) and could easily be responsible for creating some rubbing. Many of us use 205/55-16 on stock wheels with success. A lot depends on wheel width, offset, and any associated lowering as to whether rubbing will be an issue with larger tires.

Yes I have 2 sets of rims, the stocker 5 spoke svt 17 rims that are off the car now, and I have 03 stocker ZX3 16 rims on the car now. I thought that by going with a 16 the tire would fit . Oh well ill try for 55's. Not lowered not sure of offset, I dont have that info atm. Its not a constant rubbing just here and there but seeing as I just paid 400 for the tires I want to make sure I dont ruin them, im gong back to the place I got them on Fri to hopefully swap out the tire.

I have 16 incher's for summer & winter tires. They never rub. It ALL depends on your tire size and IMHO 60 is way too tall for the Fofo. My winter tires are 205/55/16 & the summer are 205/45/16 and I never had any issues with them.

The correct winter tire for your SVT is the 205/55/16.
It's very close to the stock 17" diameter, which will keep your speedo reading correctly.
(Remember, the stock SVT tire is already 1/2" taller than the standard models' tire)

Using the standard models 16" rims is a smart idea since the offset is 52mm.
^^^Meaning, there won't be any clearance issues...unless you try to run the size (too tall) you currently have.

Hopefully the shop will be willing to swap out the 60 series for some 55 series tires.
