Hey guys. I have Enkei RS-5 17x7 wheels on my lx. right now my tires are 205-40-17. i love the look, but they are too thin for Pennsylvania rodas. i recently busted one wheel on a trip to maryland. i got my new wheel on order. what is a decent taller tire size that would help prevent feeling every bump in the road and get more cushion?

215/45/17. That's stock SVT size and I've never had a problem with them and loads of tires available in that size. 205/40's are tiny.

Yeah I would get the 215/45. Never had a problem with them. The 215/40's are actually smaller in diameter than the 205/50/16's that come on the models with 16" wheels.

yeah 215/45 unless you have a huge drop (2+) then go with 215/40

sounds good. i was thinking of the size that the svt's came with. i just wanted some real life input before i got some. im tired of bubbles in tires and bent wheels. lol

looking at the 215/45's, they dont seem too much bigger than my 205-40's. has anyone gone any larger?

You wouldn't want to. Any bigger and you are really messing with the gearing. The car will probably be noticably slower. About the only benefit would be increased gas mileage on the freeway. lol

okay. ill give them a shot. ive gone from 14" wheels to these. now its time to perfect it
