Ordering parts for timing belt/water pump job, some websites have a "timing cover seal" listed. Is there one on this particular car? I've watched some how to videos, and don't recall seeing anyone change that.
Thanks

Zetec engine has separate upper and lower plastic timing covers. Neither has a 'seal'.

They have little rubber, as best as I can describe, dust seals around both the upper and lower covers, but not a seal in the sense that you'd have with an oil bath belt/chain. Middle cover has nothing.

I agree though, it's not something available separately and what you're seeing is probably not correct/needed for the Zetec.

I too thought of those little rubber strip perimeter seals but not the same. Any seal as such will be the two for cams at top and the lower crank seal at the oil pump face, which would be the typical 'timing cover seal' on anything else.
