well im running a alpine headunit 2 years old and some infinity refernce 5 1/4 in my doors, im looking to switch my headunit to this one by eclipse

Get the 2-ways rather then the 3-way speakers. If you feel the need for their color screen and their kinda crappy GPS they have on that HU, then get it. Otherwise go one step down and get the one with 8v preouts and not the color screen.

since you obviously have an "in" with eclipse brand, then get the best 2-way 5x7 they offer

don't get the crappy 3, 4, 5, or 99-way crapaxial speakers

well im getting the 700 dollar unit for 275 so i think ill go for the nicer one.

im gonna go out on a limb here and ask you if you work for circuit city. reasoning- disount on alpine, which was dropped a year ago, accomodation on infinity, which was dropped this year, and brand spankin new accomodation on eclipse. if not then it's all one big coincedence.

i would say stick with the 5x7 two ways or spring for the 6-1/2 component 2way. i would have to agree with detroit bass on the HU. for something made by fujitsu, they look a little cheap, but the HU with 8v pre-outs and the double-din with hdd make up for it, and the accomodation prices are unbelievable. plus gps on a screen that size is barely worth bragging about. on a side note, there new loaded sealed box with two 12's is so loud yet so clean.
