02 focus wagon se w/zetec engine the cable next to the throttle cable is disconnected so I reconnected it and it limits how much throttle I have, I looked at another focus with same engine and the bracket that holds both cables to the throttle body is different then mine, i havent seen any recalls on the issue. So im not sure if I have the wrong throttle body or if the cable is the wrong cable. My cruise doesnt work and im not sure if the cable that is disconnected has anything to do with that. Any help would be appreciated.

A picture would help. Since you have Cruise, you should have two cables attached to the TB. I think that a pic would really help though....

it shouldn't limit the throttle.. also when you say limiting the throttle, do you mean its holding the throttle open or not allowing it to open fully ???

the cable slot on the left is the Throttle cable the one on the right is from the cruise control


This is the throttle body that should be installed, my wagons are 01 the throttlebody/tps combo are out of a 02 ( they are interchangeable )

my bracket that holds the two cables is flat Both cables are held in the same plane so there is a bunch of extra slack on the cruise control line I ll try and get a pic up tomorrow

you need to clean that bitch with some carb cleaner and a rag. i cant help you with ur tb tho cause i dont have cruise control =(

Was the TB ever replaced? The bracket looks completly different by compaing the two pics.

I just replaced my throttle body and my old setup looks similar to what you have. Your throttle cable although looks a little stretched from what it should be. Your cruise line looks fine, so I think your problem is with the throttle. The bracket holding the two lines in place looks bent forward. It should be flat and even across the bracket. This would be putting tension on your throttle. Check that and I will look at mine and post back.

i believe the picture he has provided for us, is a picture of an automatic TB.. that the bracket to it. the disconencted one look like to be the cruise control cable.


if you don't use cruise control then don't bother with it, i disconnected my cruise control cable... i dont cruise.... i FLY... ahah
