I have an 03 focus wih the 2.0 zetec and the mtx75 five speed manual trans and whenever I am flooring it or I shift really fast from 2nd to 3rd it will try to stop me and I hear a grinding noise. I was just wondering if anyone else has his problem and if theres anything i can do about it. This is not a new problem, the car has done this ever since i got it. My step dad drove it since it had thirteen thousand on it and probly never noticed it tho, as he drives like an old lady and never gave it any gas. Any feedback is appreciated.

My car did that and $2000 later (covered under warranty at 148,000KM) it was all fixed with a rebuilt tranny. I also had a hard time getting it to go into 1st though. To go into first I had to shift to 2nd and then slide it into 1st. Synchros maybe?
