Temp and Fuel Gauges move with key off

The gauges in my 03 Focus will randomly move while the car is off. Right after i shut the car off the dop to cold and empty , then a few seconds later they will randomly move on their own.

Is this normal or do i have some wiring issue? The battery never goes dead even if it sits an extended period of time.

That is weird, I never heard of that before(no expert though). Had an '03 SE that had cluster problems(not yours though). If everything works OK then I wouldn't worry about it unless other symptoms arise.
Not normal.
Sorry to revive an old thread but did you ever figure out what was causing this. Mine started it a few weeks ago after changing the clutch. Thank you

Loose ground.
Loose ground.
I checked the ones by the battery and the ones by the driver kick plate. Any more that I’m missing? Thank you for the reply!

The ground for the instrument cluster is above the inertia switch behind the rh kick panel.
The other possibility is you have a damaged water barrier on one of your doors and the humidity is building up inside the instrument cluster. You will need to pull the door panels and inspect. No cuts and the adhesive is still gripping all around.
Repair cuts with waterproof tape. 3m makes the proper sealant which is more like a sticky clay than a glue. I had this happen on an SVT. I went nuts looking for it and then was pulling a door panel to replace a bad window regulator and it was missing the water shield. Once replaced the jiggling went away.
Make sure there is no water in the spare tire well.
