I would think a machinist would have a broach to make/ re size key ways. I've made one by drilling a hole then filing the hole square. It's just time.

I am pretty sure that he does but that means, AFAIK, that it isn't a lathe only job. No big deal, I am sure, but not quite as easy.

Pulley is boxed up and ready to go. It is only 60° here today and raining; I really hope we get back to some decent weather when the pulley returns. My garage is occupied and my car is outside.

Blower speed calculations:
Pulley Diameters
Crank - 5.2"
Original SC - 3.0"
New SC - 2.4"

Max RPM - 7400 (can be changed)
Current blower speed at max - 12,827 RPM
New blower speed at max - 16,033 RPM
% increase in speed - 25%

BTW, this part was made old school on a lathe and mill, not by just pressing a button on the CNC.

Haha. The e46 is when I stopped like BMWs. They are overly complex, overweight, unresponsive pigs.

Underdrive alternator pulley. I am hoping that less speed = more life.







Overdrive blower pulley. I am hoping that more speed = more power.
