So I'm getting my new SVT at the end of the month (Comp Orange!!!!!), and she has a few things that need to be worked on. Undercarriage is super clean though, no rust at all (saving for the rear subframe, has a tad of surface rust, but nothing out of the ordinary). I'm not very knowledgeable about body work in general, but I'm wondering what the folks here have used for undercarriage protection, and what recommendations they can make. I was thinking of using something like rhino liner after ensuring it was completely clean, but given what that stuff is, I'm not sure if that's the best of ideas. I'd like something I don't have to check up on every three months, but many once every couple of years would be nice. I've heard of some rubber spray on stuff that you can use, but can't seem to find any good information on it. Anyone have any ideas?

For the past two springs I put the car on jackstands get down and wash the undercarrage.

Rubberized undercoat spray did the opposite of what you think it does on my old car, then I later found out it holds water like a sponge.... it live and learn. Por-15 or Rustbullet is what people use now.

Have you used either of those products or both? Any recommendations in either direction?
I had a can of Por15, but I sold it after I sold the car I was going to use it on. I've heard nothing but good things about it. It isn't UV resistant so you have to paint over it with normal paint, but the chassis really doesn't see the sun. A quart should do a chassis. The Fluid Film does sound quick and easier, but the paint would be permanent solution. Really cant go wrong with either.

Yep, POR15 is great. It's a multi step process to get it cleaned and prepped, but they sell all the items you need for a permanent bond. The car will rust from the top down, but not the bottom up after using it.
