Hello, About a week ago, when I started the Focus. I heard what sounded like ball bearings hitting the header. A squeak and rattle. I got it to consistantly occur at 1800 to 2000 RPM's. Sounds like its coming from the plastic intake runner but I could be wrong. Sounds like tin gears are not meshing..... Its driving me crazy. I have checked all shields and I just cant seem to figure it out. No Code and I dont notice any performance issues. It sound like a cheap P.O.S.Car! Help![bigcry]

Ive got a similar issue with mine but Its coming from underneath. I've narrowed it down to the heat shielding which is notorious on focuses to rattle. Get your fofo on a lift and either tack the shielding down or rip it out. Hope this helps!

I think most SVT guys have this problem, it should be your heat shield rattling. tell you what
1. bend down so your head is below the car on the drivers side,
2. if you can reach, push down on the gas pedal SLOWLY till it starts to make the sound, and watch!

if its the heat shield, its pretty obvious. I had my cat. mount crack entirely which caused a similar rattle, but always at different RPMs.
Try it see if you can solve!
