Hi all,

Just wondering how important the vvt to the svt is in making the additional power over the Zetec. I know the svt has a bigger blower but very curious to see what power it would put down with no vvt running a BBQ, how many wheel hp??

I think you mean VCT = Variable Cam Timing vs VVT Variably Cam Timing

BBQ ? Do you mean BBK = Big Boost Kit ?

The SVT cams are bigger then most STG3 cams for the Zetec , the SVT makes the same HP and TQ by going to the adjustable cam gears as it does with the VCT working you just get rough idle on some , keep the VCT

Yes i meant the BBK.

Im just trying to understand how the VCT on the SVT impacts the power difference between a zetec engine and the SVT engine.

I know that the SVTF JRSC with BBK has a bigger SC and obviously that accounts for some additional power, but if a SVT didnt have the VCT what margin of loss would that mean for the hp generated?

You can do a VCT Eliminator and 2 adjustable cam gears and you wont loose any HP or TQ I wouldnt do this unless you have VCT failure and its going to cost a lot to correct the VCT
