i posted this before and cant find my post anywhere........i ordered a set of svt rims and was woundering if 205 40 17 will fit or do i need a certain size to go with them

yes, they will fit. Stock size is 215/45/17

no, you don't need a certain size tire for the svt wheels. as long as tires are made for a 17 inch wheel they will work.

thanks...im starting not to be a complete newb. gotta start somewhere i guess...

The 205/40-17 will fit but will be on the small side (23.5" in diameter). A 215/45-17 is the stock size (24.6" in diameter). A 215/40-17 would be better than the 205's at 23.8" in diameter but note it is still a little smaller.

If your car is an automatic, stick with the stock size 215/45 or it will mess with your shift points. smaller od tires will make your car rev higher @ all speeds, throw off your speedometer/odometer. If you have a manual then its not quite as big of a deal but will still throw off your speedo....unless you get a tune that compensates for tire size.
