i have a 2000 zx3 and i was wondering if you remove a zetec head not the headers that it will the zx3 ? dont knwo if any mods are required or if its even possible and if it is is there a big difference

I don't think the head bolts up but i know of a mazda head that bolts up, and it increases the compression to 10.2 to 1, and the zetec stock has 9.6 to 1 youd have to research it more.

could you point me in the right direction for finding this mazda head your talking about. i want to raise th CR but dont have that much cash, i was thinking that maybe i could find one used if i found out exactly what it is.

Shave the head .0040 and you got 10.6-1

I was running 10.77:1 CR on 95 octane!!

Is that pump gas friendly? Or would it detonate on 93 octane?

Have you done anything like that before? I wonder where i could get it done, and how much it would be. Thats sounds like the cheapest way to increase CR that ive heard so far. Plus it wouldnt be as complicated as changing pistons( i woudnt think anyway). Have any idea what kind of HP increase were talkin bout here? maybe 10hp? if im lucky?
