Well it’s been a long while, but I finally got the Focus SVT wagon running. Engine sounds amazing. No check engine lamp. Every other light is on. We will address that later. Checked all of the windows and locks. Everything works as it should. Still have to bleed the clutch and brakes, plus install the axles before it’s ready to drive. Removed the black leather rear seat cover and swap it to the wagon seat frame. It fits, but not to my liking. Drilled the rear lower seat bracket from a 3 door SVT to make the seat bottom tilt. Looks great and functions perfectly. Most of the interior is in. It’s been a long process, but almost completed. Got sidetracked on several other projects. I did a Zetec swap in an Escort wagon and converted it to a manual. We swapped a 2.5 Duratec in a 2006 ST. Put a 4.2L in a 2000 Mustang, and a couple of Crown Vic F100 swaps while I’ve been on this project.

I have installed the axles. Replaced the crankshaft pulley with a FSWERKS one. Still have to install the heater hoses and get the engine to operating temps.

I have the fenders and bumper installed. Set all of my gaps at 2.5mm. Hood is aligned. Ordered a 10 foot piece of stainless 2 1/2 pipe to extend my exhaust to fit the wagon. I only need about 1 foot, but I’m going to use the rest of the pipe to make an exhaust for my Escort wagon with a SVT engine in it. Double checking and triple checking all of the bolts. It’s been so long. I don’t want to miss anything, and the wheels fall off The only wheels I found were from a 2010 SES. They are not in the greatest shape. Clear coat is peeling. I’m looking for the gloss black Ford Racing wheels of anyone has a set they want to get rid of. Worst case is I can blast and powder coat the ones I have. More to come tomorrow. Almost finished with this stage of the project.

Finished the red front calipers. Had a pair of Brembo front calipers laying around off of a Cobalt SS. Tried them. They didn’t fit. Maybe with some mods. Alternator still not charging. Going to swap it and replace the timing belt. While it’s off, I’ll install the front poly engine mount. Inches closer. Should drive under its own power tomorrow.

The indiglo cluster seems to be having issues. It will illuminate for a minute or two, then go off. Not sure what the issue is, but all of the interior lamps go off as well.

Went to bleed the clutch and brakes, and had fluid pouring into the floor via the clutch master cylinder. After a few hours and choice words, it’s replaced. New master cylinder is what looks like an improved design. It’s metal where the old one is plastic. Going to install the adjustable caster camber plates with some lowering springs while I’m at it. I do not have lowering springs for the rear just yet. I’ll have to locate some or improvise. Replaced the lower radiator hose. All that’s left is making sure I have fluids and bleeding the clutch and brake again.

Can you post a part number for the metal master cylinder please?

Well I have brakes. That’s good news. Clutch doesn’t work. I’ll be replacing that over the weekend. Car is about 85% completed. Just a small amount of nitpicking and it’s finished. I can’t believe I put the time and effort into an old wagon, but it’s fun and pretty cool. Thinking about starting a YouTube channel for further projects. Look for Opies Garage and stay tuned. We build some pretty interesting stuff.

I did manage to get the clutch to work for a bit. Pulled it out under its own power for the first time in 3 years. Parked it in front of the Sport Scort. It’s a Zetec swapped manual wagon. I have a thing for wagons. I have an extra SVT Focus engine that I’m planning to swap in it next. Last pic is what she looked like when I started.

Exterior door handles painted and awaiting installation. Didn’t do much to it over the last week. I did put a SVT Focus engine in my ZX2 though. Fit surprisingly well. Runs strong. Still some custom work still left before it’s road worthy. I had planned on putting it into my Escort wagon, but I pulled the trigger on the ZX2.
