would my focus beat this eclipse. My friend is talking a lot of noise saying he would have me and I don't see how.

by 4g you mean 06 and up? the 162 hp and almost 3500 pounds but idk bout grear ratios and all that in 1/4 mile probably be even since the eclipse is 5 speed instead of 6 autox im not sure didnt get to drive the eclipse hard enough to see how it handles

Drag racing but its rated less horsepower and nearly 1000 pounds more

From a stop you'll get burned off the line, thanks to first gear bog (unless you have Tom's Tune, which eliminates most of the bog), but you will pass close to top end of second gear.

(I know you said drag-racing, but this is for peace of mind)

From a roll (25-35MPH) you'll pull away almost instantly.

Just make sure its not a 4G GT, because you won't touch it, even if you're driving downhill with a tail wind.[thumb]

Drag Reference Experience /// (3) 4G Eclipse GS's and (2) 4G GT's
(All Eclipse's were stock, except one GT had Intake and Exhaust)
(I was running Tom's Tune, AEM CAI, and Borla Catback.)

Do 2 tracks. Drag and twisties. Svt is not good dragging if stock but is amazing in the canyons.

The gs is slow ! Even my SPI will take it out, Ha kidding ! Just aslong its not a gt you'll own him .

Bench Racing I would have to agree with everyone here, but on the track is a different monster... how many passes have you made down a drag strip and how many passes has the owner of the GS made down the drag strip? Sometimes Driver experience can overcome a much slower car. Reaction Time and 60Ft is where alot or races are lost.

Soooo lets avoid the Bench Racing and get out there and tell us how you did!

get out there and race man! and also " you know one of the few things we knows is...its not how you stand by your car...its how you race your car..better remember that!" lol
