well first off...AHHH CRAPP!!!

last december i replaced my oem clutch and flywheel with a FIDANZA lightweight flywheel, and a CENTERFORCE clutch...

well im not positive, but i might need a new clutch already, but centerforce stopped making the svt clutch because luk revised their clutch design for the svt, and changed the dual mass flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate and they now all have a different bolt pattern...

anyways...my question is being that i have a fidanza flywheel and centerforce stopped making svt clutchs, what are my options for a clutch that will work with the fidanza flywheel?

or are my going to have to buy a whole new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel setup again?

X2 on the Southbend/Fidanza. IMO, there is no other clutch worth getting.

southbend huh...will it hold enough power if i wanted to get boost in the future?

and is it aggresive...i think the centerforce dualfriction is the equivalent of a stage 3...

so what is the southbend?

and is their a website?

yes it will hold up to boost.

and the clutch pedal will get stiff.

southbend I believe they use an audi a4 clutch and pressure plate so you will have a hybrid clutch.

ugh website umm lemme email my friend and I will get back to you on that one sir.

another question....

if my fidanza flywheel uses the first design from ford for the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate, then would it be better to just upgrade it next time anyways...

cause if the design is flawed, and im using a setup based on that design wouldnt i run into the same problems?

Next thing...

I was checking out southbend's web store and when I went to focus the only clutch for the svt that they had included the flywheel could I get the clutch seperate...

Oh and how stiff is the peddle going to be, like unbearable for DD?

well i emailed southbend...

what do you guys think is the best for DD...

should i get the southbend "rally" clutch...with a sprung disc, and then send them my flywheel to be machined to fit the sprung disc?

i read that one guy did that...do you guys think that is probably the best for driveability/ performance without a hole in my wallet?

and do you guys know how much JUST the clutch is? ...rally, sprung?

I already had the Fidanza flywheel, so I bought just the clutch and pressure plate. They sent me the wrong throwout bearing, but that was okay because I had a new Ford one to go in anyway.

I am not sure which they sent me, I didn't know there were different ones. I just told them I had a supercharged car and it was my daily driver. My clutch pedal feels stock.

well, i ordered the rally clutch, shipped them my fidanza flywheel (got it on FF-BST for $200). Andy from southbend (dxdclutches) said $450 for the rally kit & machining. Whenever that gets done and I get all the parts back here, I'll be installing it with the help of illinipo & possibly focusguy87 (and maybe swapping the correct HG back on).

to say i'm excited would be an understatement... my clutch slips baad. in 6th @ 70mph, I have to be very careful with the throttle or it'll let loose on me.

PS it cost >$10 to ship the flywheel, which in its box weighed around 14lbs :)

power surge - should I specify anything to Andy about the throwout? how much was the Ford one?
I think I paid $110 for the Ford one. I figured I didn't want to pull the trans for something as stupid as a T/O bearing, so I sprung for the OEM.

sounds like machining the fidanza flywheel to fit a sprung southbend clutch is the way to go!

thanks guys...i was freaking out when william from cfm told me that centerforce stopped producing the svt clutch!

What do you have to "machine"?

they basically grind about 1/16" off so the Audi A4 clutch kit will fit the flywheel

they already got my flywheel & are working on it as we speak. it will probably ship out today. andy said the T/O bearing is included. the kit literally comes with everything you need. i just have to "pop" it in. :p

thx pumkin... if you wanna drive up here i'll let you know when its happening (unless you're offering your garage... hehe)

i think i can trick pete (illinipo) into helping out, and he thinks charles might let me in his garage... which would be nice since he has a lift. :)
