SVT Auto X & Road Racing

Hi - I bought a damaged ex-NASA Spec Focus SVT as a fun rebuild project and to use for Auto X, as a track car and for Champ Car and/or TREC. I have many years racing oval track and short course off road trucks. I've never raced anything remotely like a Focus. Electronic fuel injection and FWD are new to me. To start I'm putting the car on a diet and also working to simplify the wiring. I have a few questions.

Do I screw anything up if I remove the charcoal canister, connect the hoses together and disconnect the wiring?

With the charcoal canister removed can I also remove the solenoid on the firewall and remove the wiring?

Is it better to keep the front sway bar or get rid of it?

I've been told the MTX 75 is a better trans for Auto X. Is that also true for road racing?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
