My brother has a SVT focus with stock suspension. He is having major issues with inner tire wear on the front and back. He took it to a buddies shop and he told him there was no adjustment on the camber and stuff and that he had to buy camber plates. I told him that his mechanic was full of it. The car is stock and therefore should be adjustable enough to get it into spec. I could see it if its lowered or something.

So my question is... is there no adjustment for camber front or rear?
I am going to have him go where I take my Audi, its slammed and they get it perfect for me.

Anyone else have this issue?

you can purchase camber bolts for the rear they adjust up to 1 degree i believe. You could try a diff alignment specialist and see what they think

the alignment guy is right there is NO camber adjustment on a stock car, however...
the problem is not with camber, its with toe. many foci owners, incluing myslef have lots of camber and it is not a problem because we set our toe close to zero (slightly toed out in front, slightly in for the rear). the "in spec" values are actualy quite broad and you can have major tire wear problems while still being on spec.
BTW, what is his alignment specs right now? we can help more if we see what its currently at.
My suggestion is to set front toe to 1/16" out, and in the rear 1/16" in.

I too am seeing excessive wear to the insides of the front and rear tires. If what you say about he camber being "fixed" is correct, then the only adjustment we can make to the alignment is toe. That would be easy to do with "strings" like they do with racecars. Is there a camber "spec" on the SVT? Looks like to me it is negative by 1/2 to 1 degree. Would the camber bolts correct this? I know that would only be for the rear. I had camber plates on my '91 Mustang 5.0 and could put them wherever I wanted.

I manage a Goodyear, we do alignments all day long. Many cars do not have fully adjustable suspension. We stock a large inventory of camber plates, shims, bolts, etc, etc.

You'd be surprised how many cars are out of whack, right from the factory. We had a guy with an 07 SRT8 Charger not long ago that was eating up his stock tires, only on the right side of the car. Turns out his rear camber and toe were way out of whack, and the car was stock. We had to put offset bushing in his rear control arms on the one side. Shouldn't have been like that, but it was.
