When I get into my 2008 Focus SES, sometimes I hear a creaking noise. Or sometimes if a passanger gets in I'll hear it too. I had the car at the dealer and asked them to take a look at it, and they concluded that it was "noamal" suspension noise. I don't know if they heard the same sound I do or not. Has anyone else experienced this noise? Could it be that something just needs to be lubed?

-Thanks

loose weight, hahah just kidding.. my car does that time to time, depends how cold it is.. its a ford feature.. I will in the future refer to defect as feature when pertaining to ford. Hey its a ford, only a true mechanic can keep it running like the wind. Its not for [:)][:)][:)][:)]ies or pansies that want to drive a car that just works perfect and has a 10 year warranty, screw that, it's America's true car. Built to last as long as we can make it last. Screw the proper engineering and meeting proper specs, thats not what America's about. If thats what you want go to Germany or japan, this is American, we need maintenance. I am drunk.

That sort of noise may well be from the front/rear struts/shocks. You may be able to duplicate it by pressing down hard on the four fenders. This works the suspension slightly...sort of like just getting into the car.

When you take the car to the dealer....it's much better if you can duplicate the noise to the service writer or a mechanic. And no....those are not "normal" noises for a new car.

haha i like the rant followed by "I am drunk." adds luls

my car creaks like crazy, but it didnt start until i added a rear swaybar with poly bushings and steedas lame adapter kit. Thats my problem, but i dont care because my cars pretty loud :D

If its coming from the rear that could be part of it, ive also heard of it creaking where the e-brake cables pass through a suspension piece back there.

Most likely it is the drums. I know when I am parked on a hill or whatever with the parking break engaged I get creaks which is due to the drums in the back.

I also get creaks after I lower my car off of jack stands after oil changes and again this is because the drums are trying to resist moving and give off a creaking sound.

Hope that helps...

I get that same sound in my '07. Sometimes when cornering too which leads me to believe it's the suspension. one of my brothers car nut friends suggested maybe some bushings didn't get greased enough.

I just turn the radio up then it goes away [thumb]
