hey hey. am replacing the driveshafts on our 2007 2.0 turbo diesel. when the outer end of the cv shaft is inserted through the stub axle, it doesn't appear to go in far enough. there looks to be a lot of spline left there. there doesn't seem to be much travel left when inspecting from the inside. being clever, thought i'd use the locking bolt to pull it through. with very little effort, I broke the bolt which appears to be made out of butter (it's okay, I removed it successfully). I have placed the old shaft beside the new one (genuine from ford) and they measure-up identicle. I can't remember what it lo0ked like during disassembly. it doesn't look right to me. anyone been down this path during shaft replacement, or wheel bearing exchange/ service?
