So I'm kind of stumped with this one. Whenever i open up the throttle on my Zetec as I am driving, i can hit about 30 mph and the RPMs will drop and the engine will act as if i let off the throttle. It happens whenever it feels like it. It is not pulling any codes and i recently gave it a tune up to try and solve this but it didn't work. If anyone knows what is causing this problem could you please comment on the thread below. Thank you very much!

Automatic or stick? Does it happen at the same throttle opening in any gear?

You had mentioned that it's intermittent & usually happens at one speed range, just trying to guess if it might be more rpm/gear/load dependent.

It is an automatic. I believe it happens in the same gear each time it has happened but it has only happened to me about 3 times and I'm usually making sure nothing is behind me when it happens

My guess would be fuel filter , sock filter on fuel pump or the fuel pump bad

Very possible and more so if the deeper you get into throttle the worse or easier it does it.
