So I finally got all the pics from my summer install emailed to me so I thought I'd throw em up! I went with Crane Stg 2's and matching springs/retainers... The install was waaay fun and the only thing I would have liked was the temperature outside to drop just a bit... Anyways, if you have any q's let me kno!

First off, it feels a lot better now, day and night difference for sure.. I love it,

As far as the install goes, the main time consuming part is "re-setting" the keepers into the new valve spring retainers... and set of very fine needle nose pliers helps a lot in that department.. There are some little things that would have slowed me down if my bro's garage wasn't soo well hooked up... like a couple bolts to thread into the timing chain, and the one down at the flywheel.. but mainly I would just say get a quality valve spring compressor, your basic tools, and an air hold with adaptor to thread into the spark plug for each cylinder! Oh and a trustworthy partner to do the depressing! lol Took me about 5 hrs. work time, just being careful and that is including the header! So, ya i have more pics too if anyone has any specific requests.. thanks for the comments!

edit: oh, and I used honhon's and marcy motorsport's write up as I was doing it just for reinforcement.. (had my laptop in the garage w/ me..)

As far as brands go, i've always been partial to crane just because they've been around the block..lol But as far as 1's 2;s or 3's I would almost completely say stg.2s unless you are ready to do much more work which is required for stage 3s..(eg. valve reliefs being the main one...) Stage 1s are fine, it just seems to me that if you're gonna do cams your better off to give yourself double what stg1s are gonna give you for the same price..

I tuned with my xcal2, I got a tune sent to me with the cams and all my other mods added on to it!
