Hi

I have a 2006 focus,

When turning the steering wheel at a very low speed 2 mph I can hear a nosie coming from the steering. but when driving normally and turning theirs no nosie.
Any ideas what it could be or is this normal?

Probably just normal, for a duratec, steering pump noise. At low RPM they don't like moderate to high steering loads because they can't build enough pressure. It's pretty normal though.

Other thing it might be is loose steering rack bushings. I recall hearing a few people who's bolts where a bit loose and caused a slight knock from time to time.

Thanks for your reply I have had the car from new and it’s got very low mileage 21,000.
This noise was not picked up on its MOT,
What you said makes a lot of sense.
Thanks once again
