has anyone successfully installed their CAI kit? i tried this morning and was unable to get the filter cone to line up with the MAF pipe. i followed the directions to the letter, rotating tubes etc, but it just wasnt happening. it seemed the filter cone was too big to fit in the enclosed area. i had to reinstall the factory airbox, but on the plus side, while it was out, i dropped in the k&n filter i had purchased previously.

You just have to give it some good old fashioned elbow grease. If you look, me and someone else (who's name escapes me at the moment) have threads complaining about how poorly the intake is designed and about our various clearance issues with the filter.

i managed to make the 05+ fit my 04, just took a lot of elbow grease and even more blood...you'll get it, just don't be worried about breaking anything

Ask Bradwhite, cause he has this in his 08. When I put in mine, I put the MAF piece and filter together first, then put it thru the heat sheild, and dropped that whole bit in, and hooked up the necessary pieces.

did you run a search on this? i know there are a bunch of threads about this issue. they should be right in the title, like, 'steeda sri, installation, etc.' use those keywords and search in the DT perf. forum. they should pop up. lots of info in there

well frak me with a rusty pitchfork! i bet that approach would work. i was issued an RA from steeda, but might give it one more chance. was there still any clearance issues?
