I was just wondering, i know the SVT's know the model numbers and its final... about how many ST's are the pumping out?

i know its a small percent i just wanna know if anyone has the figures...

Think of it this way. If you look at most databases, the SVT was treated like a separate model. You would see "Ford Focus" and "Ford Focus SVT". The ST was just a trim level.

I drive a 2007 ST. I used to have a 2003 SVT. The SVT is quicker & handles better but the ST rides better & gets better mileage. I have to say for everyday driving, I prefer the ST.

i know if you look it up in autozone.com, when you select a vehicle, and it pops up '2.0 zx4 or 2.3 zx4' it says its 97% more likely to be the 2.0 than the 2.3. so, id say the ST is pretty exclusive too.

partially because even the dealers didn't know there was anything special about the ST...i had one ask me why i was looking for the "ST" specifically...

oh man, you ain't kiddin...i called the other day to my friccin DEALER, parts dept. asked about the rear shocks on the ST. he asked me why i kept mentioning it was the ST. he never heard of it. [8][ohcrap][dunno]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the suspensions in the ST and SES the same? I know that's what Ford's own literature said at the dealership. I have an SES.

u are incorrect. the ST uses a different suspension. one major difference is the sway bars and struts/shocks. i dont think the SES even has a rear sway bar as it is.

^^^Actually you are incorrect. All SES foci come with a rear swaybar stock. It is also the same size as the ST's at 21mm. I have measured both.

And to elaborate the ST has the same length springs but are stiffer than the other Foci sans SVT. It also uses similar struts to the SVT. They differ slightly in their physical build but the valving and such is the same as the SVT's.

thats why i said that as a separate statement....i didnt think they had the rear swaybar, must be the SE then.

but they do have different shocks and struts, not just the springs. mike said they are an upgraded version, made by tokico for Ford. thats what my parts guy here said too. i was saying that people on here were telling me they are the same, and they both said thats not the case. they said they are a separate part from the non-STs.

He drives an SES... Look below his avatar... And yes the SES does have slightly stiffer shocks as well. Certainly nothing special though.
