well i just posted, but the squeel is definatly not from my brakes...so if you guys can help me diagnose this i would be very happy...

well first off it doesnt happen all of the time...just happens at random...which makes it hard to listen for and figure out, BUT...

ive kind of narrowed it down to where it seems like it only happens when im letting the clutch out or pressing it in...it does it while im in gear, but ive also heard it while im letting the clutch out and the shifter is in neutral, so that was weird to me?

what could this be...

Funny Squeal

I may have heard that noise with my 2004 Focus and 2006 Mustang GT. At first I only heard it when releasing the clutch but it manifested itself at idle and while moving. It bugs the hell out of me. Its very loud in the Mustang. Can barely hear it in the SVT. I have a funny feeling that it is a pulley issue. Its not the throw out or the drive belt but both cars sound exactly the same. Intermittent and is like a purge sound or howl more that a squeal or squeak.....I am installing a new pulley on the Mustang, Its supercharged and will lube and re-torque the other pulleys. The mustang has 10K on it and the Focus has almost 30K. I was thinking that it may also be the alternator, not due to any electrical fluctuation but because I had to install it backwards for the Saleen SC install. I know that doesnt have anything to do with the Focus but it is in that general area that I have noticed the noise. I hear it on the Passenger side of the Focus and the front end of the Mustang. I cant believe that we are the only two people with this problem. Please someone chime in

I've got an intermittent squeak/squeak noise that tends to go in quick bursts of alternating squeal and no squeal, but very quickly, like 2-3 times a second (as opposed to a continuous squeal). Usually when the engine is warm. I think it comes from the pulley area, but I'm not sure.

Automatic transmission, so I have no idea if it's related to any of these above posts, but if it is the same thing, I would assume that would eliminate throw-out bearing.

Maybe Ford installs a secret mouse habitat in all the Foci?
