Well with the recent addition of purchasing Tom's Tune for my dura, he said it would be helpful to have a wideband, i used to have one installed but i removed it to have a cleaner look inside my car...

but with the addition of the tune coming come monday, i decided it was time to hook it back up today....

but i didnt want a pillar pod, and i didnt want to mount it in a pod on my column like i had before... so i found a nice piece of un-used real-estate, i think it came out well...

what do you think?

i know its a cobalt, and it lights up blue and the rest of the dash is green... but when i get the extra cash i plan on changing that, i want to get a different series, maybe the GS series i believe it is from autometer, and then the wide band will also be green.

and ive been playing with the camera ive been using, and it seems the middle picture without the flash looks pretty bad ass.

Thats where i was thinking about mounting mine when i get it! I like. Hows visibility when driving tho? If you need to check it is it readily available. Also was there plenty of room where you mounted it or did you need to clear some space behind it?

i had to clear some space behind it... i have a Snap-On 2 1/16th hole saw that i bought specifically for drilling out holes just for gauges... so i picked a good spot on the gauge surround, then removed it, drilled the hole, then reinstalled it, saw where i needed to clearance the backside, and then just stuck my drill back in when i had the piece installed and just followed the hole, its alittle tight but i dont see how it'll hurt any thing

and the surround isnt bent or anything, but i mainly had to make alittle clearance in the back for the harness for the gauge... it has like a mini 8wire plug for its backside...

and visibility is perfect, when sitting back in my driving position i can see about 2mm below the number read out... so its perfect.

you can change the brightness at night, and the buttons toggle for like the Highest or lowest A/F ratio, and for the datalogging capabilities.

and heres my next install after the wideband that i did... its an oil pressure light from autometer i installed in the vent! lol you install the sender just like you would an oil pressure gauge, and then run the wire from the sender to one of the wires on the light, then you hook the other wire from the light to an ignition source...

and then when OIL PSI goes below 18PSI the sender creates a ground for the light and it comes on! simple 12v, so then when you start the engine and/or there is 18PSI of pressure or more, the ground on the sender goes away and the light goes off... here are some pictures...

ignition on, motor not running

motor running

and another

the vent is still fully function as in the vent movement itself and airflow... but when there is OIL PSI or the ignition is off, you wont be able to spot the light very easily... i am thinking of maybe a shift light in the middle vent to the left of the hazard switch.

incase the engine looses oil pressure or goes below 18psi... i think its alittle more affective in warning if something is wrong with OIL PSI than a gauge, becasue a gauge wont light up or attract attention if it goes too low, depending on gauge.
