I just got my focus a few days ago, and besides the little minor work everything seemed to be running fine.

The first problem for sure though is a THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP noise coming from what seems to be relatively close the the front tires. It makes the noise faster when i accelerate and louder when i turn right and lower, but a little bit of a different thumping when i turn left. It seems the quietiest i can get it is when im going straight and a little to the left. My friend told me it was most likely an axle which will cost me around $60, but im not sure if he is correct. Is he? Or are there any other possibilities?

The other problem I am having is the idle. It's not so much a problem, but it just scares me anytime i come to a stop. The idle is so quiet that it seems as if the car has stalled and turned off, but sure enough i can just give it some gas whenever and she is still running perfectly. Is this a problem or am i just paranoid? I have just never known a car to be this quiet while idling.

I do have some type of custom exhaust, and it actually does sound really nice anytime i give it any gas or start it up. its just when i come to a stop and it idles... its just as if the car is off... it is that quiet. I mainly just got paranoid because i saw this thread.

The main problem I am having is the first one i listed though. I know that needs to be fixed for sure.
