Just a little background on the car first. Had motor rebuilt due to bad rings in cylinder 2. Fast forward car is all up and running and broke in but will intermittently smoke on start up. Doesn't do it all the time and doesn't smoke for long. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks for the help

if rings didn't seat properly it would cause that or did you replace the valve stem seal when you did rebuild they could also cause the slow oil leak into cc camber.

Usually

If smoke is quick and only on start up, most of the time it's valve guides or valve seals.

Thanks for the info. My dad was the one who did the bottom end and the head was done by a company. All was gone through and new parts put in. The only thing was one of the bolts broke off in the head for the exhaust mani and he thinks he might have drilled it out too far.
