Iv got hold of a 2002 Focus 1.6 16v and Im wanting to just make the most of some simple mods to release some power for the minute. Its the Zetec SE engine, and Iv been told theres a bit of tuning potential there.

Can anyone give me some ideas to start me off, Im not looking to spend a fortune just yet just to get some extra power out of the engine.

Considering we dont have the 1.6 here in the states I'm going to make a few suggestions, but I'm not sure how they will do on your particular car.

Tune - DiabloSport, SCT or Bluefin
High Flow catalytic convertor
High flow air filter or some form of after market intake
Increase the gap on your plugs

A larger throttle body may help some, but I'm unsure of what your car has on it stock.

Theres no difference it's still a Zetec engine and all the parts are the same, just it comes in a 1.6L and thats the CC block size.
Like 2.0L manual, auto and st170/SVT has 1988 CC block size.
1.8L manual in OZ has a 1700-1788 off the top of my head CC block size.
