Back when I was running my 5 liter we used to use a shorter serpentine belt that only ran the water pump and alternator. This was usually good for at least a 1/4 second and some reported as much as a half. Regardless of the amount of benefit, has anyone done this on the Zetec motor? I've only had the car a week, and I really haven't taken the time to look myself to see if everything would still rotate properly.
The other concern would be the time involved for the swap, only took about 2 mins. on the 5 liter.[idea]

when you go to the track...just remove the serp. belt for the 1/4 run...takes like 5 minutes.

i've thought about it many times...and my friends do the same, took 2 tenths off his 1/4 with his wrx...but i dunno if i'd do it...in time i will pull the a/c and power steering...but for now, an udp is fine.
