Hey guys, did a couple mods to my car lately, one of them was shortening the shifter, the other was to replace the leather around it. Check out some pics. The leather is sold by ebay seller 'topgaiters' whom I recommend highly.

I took the white stitching because it is simple, and matches the rest of the interior.

Also shortened the shifter by just over an inch. Feels nice now... Waiting for the Steeda STS bracket.

No, stock shifter. I cut off 3 centimeters from the shifter and then used a 12x1.25 threading die. See image in post below:

I know this thread was a while ago but I purchased a new leather with blue stitching for my mk3 off eBay.
How did you remove the leather from the original gear stick? and how did you get the new leather onto it?
