I have looked at a couple SVT's other then mine and Ive noticed that the numbers, the R, and the lines on the shift knob are all colored in black, but mine is not. Did they come from the factory like this or did they paint these places and if so is there a walk through?

you can paint them, i dont think there is a how to but its really straight forward. I spray painted the numbers and then let it dry for 5 to 10 minutes. Then i took the rough part of a kitchen sponge and started scrubbing. The paint will come right off but it will not get down into the numbers. I tried all different techniques and this worked the best

thanks, I thought about the spray paint idea or using the most fine tipped paint brush I could find and then still rub off the excess but I think Im going to go with the spray paint idea. how hard was it to get the paint off after it was dry?

not very hard at all, just scrub untill its off. If you do it to early the number will come off too. If you wait to long it will just be harder to get off. Will still come off though. I tried a fine paintbrush and it came out sloppy.

question: if I get
there shouldn't be a problem in simply replacing with stock, right? That is, other than relocating the O/D button, I don't have to do anything special to it...?
I want to change it up a bit without spending what I don't have...in the meantime I'm thinking this should be fine...
