Hey, I'm desperately needing to do a brake job on my 2012 Focus SE, and was wondering which type of brakes would be best for my car. It would be helpful to know the advantages and disadvantages to each type. I just bought it in August of last year, and I'm still learning about some of "Serenity"'s quirks and tendencies. (Yes, she's named after the ship on firefly!) Any help is appreciated!

Probably ceramic pads. I know for sure ceramics will not wear the discs like semi-metallics will.

I would go with a motorcraft replacement pad or Akebono.

Akebono makes great pads. Order from RockAuto stay away from part stores that sell rip off no name pads.

For a daily driver, it's hard to beat Motorcraft pads for price/wear/dust/performance. My front pads lasted 80K+ miles. Still haven't touched the factory rears.
