For those of you interested in getting some more HP SCT has a flash for your ECU. I recently had my car done and I must say holly crap what a differance! I have a guy in Philly that will sell you the flash, tune it, and dyno it for about $650. Here's how my numbers went done.


145.1 hp 144.3 tq

mods include:

short ram intake
bored throttle body
19lb injectors
milled and bored head
cam gears (intake cam +4)
2.5 cat back
SCT flash XCAL2

Would have got more but had a problem with removing the govenor. Being my car is a Contour SCT really didn't have a program for, so this guy programed it himself. He has a new program for this problem, but i'm trying to get my header on first. He says where it sits i should be pushing 150hp easy, add the header 160 or so easy!

I must add this flash has a bonus feature. He gives you 3 programs and you can also read and clear your own codes!

Any experience with the Focus? I'm looking at cam gears with a dyno tune and reflash of my Xcal with someone good in/around Philly.

So this tuner couldn't go into the base file that he should have and change the value of the speed limiter? And a good tuner should at least be programming it himself, that is what makes it custom tuning. SCT's tunes are very conservative and files for referrence.

What is the guy's business name? Evolution Performance was the only other one closest to me in the philly are in a 25 mile radius. I searched SCT's website, and it shows no tuner in the philly area except for Lund Racing, and Evolution Performance.

it's called L & M Performance.

as for moving the speed limiter he tried 4 different programs, it would say it took it but when you hit you hit! unlike the focus and svt my car hasn't been done before, like many other things on my car, so i wouldn't say he's a bad tuner just having some difficulty. this guy is a ford specialist, i've seen many of his projects and he's very impressive!

yea, evolution is pretty new tuning anyway...Lund Racing could have done it, but I bet you didn't choose him cuz he doesn't have a dyno. You don't need a dyno to dial a car in.

yea that was part of the reason i went to him, i wanted to get a dyno just to see what my mods have done for me. it's nice to see her go from 120 hp stock to 145 hp, so far...

Focus Sport SCT Xcal Tune, i have 112 at the wheels with just an intake and Cat back, took it to bristol dyno in CT and we tried to get a better tune out of it and it was as tuned as it could be, we raised the timing and had detonation so we knew that the FS tune was at its max timing that was allowed)if that makes sense)
