I saw a Focus RS two weeks ago in Europe and spent a good deal of time looking at the rotors and calipers. Yesterday driving I saw a Mazda 3 and the calipers looked REMARKABLY similar. Anybody know if they are using the same part? Might be a smaller rotor, but that front caliper sure looked suspicious...[???:)]

you have to run 18s or bigger to run rs brakes, so I don't think the 3 has the same brakes.

right, right, right.

I went through all that logic, but still that caliper seemed to have the same exterior design as the RS (same as my 1970 914-6 - in fact I recall something like Brembo buying the rights to use the Porsche caliper design back in the late 60's, early 70s???)

Anyway, does anybody actually know where the Mazda caliper comes from (Ford, Mazda, Supplier?)

I saw this thing cruising on the freeway at 80mph, so I could be a bit sketchy on the details, but brake calipers do catch my attention (I have Wilwoods on my SHO).
