i have a 5 speed spi and was just wondering where everybody shifted at..and where the spi made most of its hp

You can run it to redline.

The SPI makes most of it's power at idle.

I know of a guy who beats on his SPI like a mad man and shifts all the way to 7000 and it still has not blown.

I suggest you get on a dyno and find where you max power is made at.

Shift before the redline of 100rpm and you will be fine.

with a header and no cat, I reach 6000 on track, but when I was stock past 5000 it was dead!

wow thats great guys ..i was scared to go past 4 becuse my old truck redlined at 4 i think
