Hey, checked through a bunch of threads and haven't located any info.

When I roll down a steep hill my engine revs incredibly high (5k+) and holds it all the way down while making tons of noise. Is this normal? I realize it usually does this at maybe a maximum of 4k when the brakes are lightly applied, just not sure if it's commonplace or not.

Thanks in advance! This thing is a blast to drive. [8D]

It's making tons of noise cause it's at 5000 rpm :p

Yes it's normal, it's utilizing engine braking so you don't run away too quickly on the downhill.

Its useful when driving sporty, it rev-matches a downshift under braking so you'll have the right gear when you go to accelerate. Pretty much the best feature of this whole transmission.

Shift out of sport mode and it'll keep the highest gear possible, shift into sport and it'll keep the lowest gear possible... glad I have a real manual!
