I've been to the Thule and Yakima websites. However. niether could show me a 2012 Ford Focus wither their rack on.

Has anyone installed a roof rack? Do you have a photo of the instillation?

The Thule clips on the edge of the roof. I was hoping there was a support hidden under the rain gutter. But, sadly it appears the roof clips are probably what I'll go with.

I have contacted Yakima about this and they are working on getting their new Whispbar system ready on the 2012 Ford Focus. I am waiting for this. I have their old system (Q-Towers and It is very good and stable but doesn't look right on the Focus. It needs a more refined look, not bulky like the Q-Towers.

For what it's worth I just installed a Thule Raceway3 on my 12 hatch - no issues except Thule Fit guide had no info. Really wasn't hard to figure out anyway.

I bought the one from partscheap.com . It is perfect and made by Thule.
I got 40 mpg (imp) with a huge cargo box and this rack on my 1500 km trip @ 70 mph. Perfect.

So I have a rear mounted bike rack on my hatch. Clips to top and bottom of hatch with rest points on the glass and lower part of the door. Very happy with it except for one thing.

Have to be very careful not to use the wipers when backing up as the rear wiper can't complete a wipe so I'm concerned it will burn out the motor trying to get that one wipe. Forgot Sunday and had to pull over to remove the rack.

Looks good. Just a little disappointing about not being able to use the rear wipers. Not even because I would want to but just if I turned it on by accident somehow.

I may have to pick one of these up though, unless I find a nice roof bike rack.
Was this easy to install?

but i hate it! It is so impracticale for a Hatchback and im looking at getting a roof rack. I was wondering if you have used extenders on the Q-towers to extend the rack like a saw on their install video on Yakimas website. See i like the way the Q-towers look over the Whispbar. The wispbar looks too tacky for my taste

I saw give it a couple of months and with how popular this car is becoming companies will start adding this car to their fit lists and other people will be posting pictures of their racks....hopefuly ; )

Im assuming most hitch racks have this feature. but my dad has a hitch rack for his truck and there is a hing on the rack so you can lower the rack to open his tailgate or say our hatchback.

It's a thule and it's about $300 from partscheap.com - kinda expensive, IMO but I'll search around to find it cheaper. After that I would get the upright bike carrier that's about $100.
