I recently replaced an EGR sensor so that I could pass my state's vehicle inspection program.

The sensor was replaced and I went to the testing center. The vehicle failed and I was told it was because the vehicles readiness monitors were not set and that it usually takes the vehicle to run through a certain driving cycle(s).

Can some tell me what Ford Focus driving cycles would be or how to get the monitors reset?

Ewww.... those are complicated, and every time you reset your computer by removing the battery terminal you have to go back through them.

First is one that required idling for 4 mins. Then there's one where you must drive at 45mph in top gear for 10 minutes. Those are the only two that I know, but I remember reading about them, shoot this question to the Technical Chat forum and you'll get better results than here in General Car Chat.

Biggest thing after an ECU reset, is to let it idle for at least 3-5 minutes.
I'm talking, start it - and step away...don't touch the gas or anything.
