Hey guys basically i took my car keys out with me to a club in my town center, ended up getting really drunk and that was the last i saw of my poor remote key :(. So yeah anyways i bought this remote key from ebay :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....K:MEWNX:IT&item=150307967661#ebayphotohosting

So to cut it short i have tried searching around for some information on adding a new key, at the moment i have one key which has the blue transponder thingy, is this sufficient for programming the new remote key i bought? Also i heard that a 00 plate zetec has a PATS mobiliser so my new remote key wont start the engine because it needs to be programmed by ford?

Any help would be great :)

He is in Europe, so the key fobs must be different then they are here. I bought some on ebay that were for our US model and searched for the programming process on the web. Took like 15mins to program them.

So you bought a key that wasnt from ford and it started your engine minx?
No it was actually just the remotes. Here our keys are seperate from the remotes on the earlier models like mine.

Its easy and quick as long as you have another key with the chip programmed correctly
The method is described in the owners manual
basically it involvesu inserting the good key in the iqnition and switch it on and off 3 times then you remove it and quickly insert the new key for a number of seconds

if you dont have the manual Ill try to scan the page and post it
(better to follow exact instructions)
Finding someone to cut that key will be a problem but not impossible

If you have 1 key you cycle that one key on to off in the ignition 3 times and do the same with the new key, if you have 2 other keys you do both before the new one. If its your only key ford has to program it through the integrated diagnostic software computer.
