I have a 2005 Focus ZX4 SE. To remove the grille (in front of the radiator) I know it's necessary to take off the top cover on top of the grille. This is a black plastic piece with a cutout in the middle for the hood latch, and is held in place with 3 or 4 black Phillips screws.

My problem is that these Phillips screws just turn, they don't come out. Anyone have this problem and a solution?

That happens to me sometimes. What I do is I also have a small flathead screwdriver that I try to wedge in there while I am turning the philips screw. Usually the added pressure from the flathead is enough to get the screw out. Just be sure to be gentle with the flathead screwdriver in case you don't want to leave any "scars" on the philips screw.

Cheers!
