I am going to put my new Borla cat back exhaust on my SVT and was thinking of removing the cat. I know this will throw an engine code but will it cause the car to run Lean????

Just extending the pipe. I have a rattle and looked everywhere and believe it's coming from the cat, if thats even possible.

no problem I wana see pics of your car when you put them on.

jus go to a muffler shop and tell them to make you an orp

and have two bungs welded into to it for your o2 sensor.

you need the front one on or your car will run like shit.

Its possible it will throw a lean code. Just reset them, they might stay away if the adaptive control does its job. I'd pull the cat & reinforce all the heat shields. I wouldn't remove the shields because you might cure the noise, but will create other problems like proper cat lite off in winter and in summer radiate too much heat in surrounding areas.

Ok, so if I get an orp pipe made I just need 2 bungs for my o2 sensors and NO cheater harness to keep it from running lean? And if it does run lean just reset it how, by unplugging the battery???

you need 2 welded in so you can run your front sensor and the rear you can use a Mil so you wont throw a CEL

Yeah, I just called a place online and they haven't had em for awhile. Oh well, I'll get all new exhaust with an ORP put on and perhaps get the "mil" later. I'll just have 2 bungs put in. Thanks for all the help guys, and Pumkin especially.[wave]

I've always been under the impression that deleteing the cat wont throw a lean code (or make it go lean)

the front O2 sensor is the one that helps regulate fuel in the engine, the 2nd O2 (after cat) is there to let the ECU know that the cat is working fine.
