I need to remove the passenger seat from my 2005 Focus Wagon so that I can store some camping gear for a one week trip. I removed the 4 torx bolts holding it down but I am unsure what effect removing the electrical plug under the seat will have on the air bag or other systems. As far as I know my car did not have side air bags when I purchased it. Will the car still operate with the plug removed?

Do you have power seats or heated seats? Disconnecting it should be OK. -or maybe the car will EXPLODE in a huge fireball. One of the two.

Ejection seat may be triggered.....

Unplugging the seat will likely give an "airbag" fault code for the restraint system. Mfr. doesn't guarantee operation of the system with any faults present, though the drivers side MAY work as designed even with passenger sensors disconnected.
