If you have an automatic transmission there are many remote start kits available, including a rather expensive one from Ford. If you have an manual transmission it is not recommended at all, but is possible if you want to ignore safety considerations.

The installation is quite tedious and involved on most vehicles, if it is done right, as it requires identifying and splicing into quite a few wires in the harness, adding a safety switch so that it will not operate with the hood open, adding some sort of PATS bypass to defeat the security chip in the key (typically means accessing the ignition switch area to add a small "antenna" to provide the code from a spare key), etc.

Before attempting to do it yourself I would strongly recommend that you get a copy of the installation instructions and see what you're getting yourself into.

If you still have your two original keys, you don't have to pay ford $100. Ford will sell you a key for less than $25, or you can get one on ebay much cheaper. You can then program the new key yourself, using your two existing keys.

If you have lost one of the keys, then you have a problem and need to pay Ford or one of the select locksmiths that have the programming tool.

I have no experience with the above e-bay vendor and only show it as an example of what's available.
