The 12mm nut that was tack-welded to the rear trailing arm for the lower shock absorber bolt on my '01 ZTS has broken free from the control arm. This produces a clanging as the lower part of the shock bangs around. I can't be the first Zetec owner this has happened to. Short of replacing the $100 rear trailing arm what are other people doing to fix this?

Tighten the bolt into the nut more.

Or take it to an exhaust shop and have em tack weld the nut back on for a few bucks.
